The Battle of Hoi An
We have a tough battle going on here in the conference room in Hoi An, Vietnam.
15 Vietnamese participants take turns sneaking away to the control box and nudge the air-conditioning system up to 25 degrees.
Then 15 Swedish participants take turns sneaking away moments later to nudge it downwards to 21 degrees.
Nobody has addressed the issue in plenum. As a facilitator I am glad if they keep the issue out of "my" process.
But I see them sneak away to the control box from time to time. During coffee breaks. When they take a toilet break. During lunches.
Sneaky participants. Wanting to control the temperature.
Tweaking it up. Tweaking it down.
It is a silent battle of wills.
Impressive.
And weird.
